The LORENTZ PS range of DC powered centrifugal pumps have been designed specifically to pump larger volumes of water efficiently using solar power. These highly efficient pumps can achieve flow rates of 450 m3/hour. Each system consists of a pump, pump motor and a controller. This modular concept keeps all electronics above ground providing, simple servicing, ease of access and a low cost of ownership. LORENTZ submersible pumps are deployed in irrigation systems, drinking water provision, water treatment and livestock.

LORENTZ surface pump systems are used as circulating pumps for swimming pools and any other filtration systems. LORENTZ surface solar pumps are, also used as booster pumps for industrial applications. The new PS CS-F surface range uses our market leading PS 600 / PS 1800 / PS 4000 controllers and ECDRIVE drives coupled to a surface pump end. The pumps are being introduced to meet the market need for high flow pumps typically in irrigation applications with flow rates up to 59 m3/h. This further extends our product portfolio and continues to ensure LORENTZ is the world’s number one solar water pumping company.

Drip Irrigation

In drip irrigation systems, water is distributed at low pressure (app. 2 bars). Drip irrigation systems can also be used to distribute fluid fertilizer directly to the roots and hereby fertilizer increases the efficiency of deployment and reduces fertilizer expenses. Solar pumps lift the water from canals, rivers or wells; afterwards the water flow is done by gravity, so called “gravity irrigation systems. The system pressure is very low (1 to 3 meters). Therefore a high volume, low pressure pump is needed. In this case a centrifugal pump is most adapted for open surface water with a low content of dirt or organic material. The normal lift is approx. 1 to 15 meters. The tank capacity should be equal to the minimum daily requirement as security stock.
